Last Friday, April 23rd, The Heiskell School held its infamous Olympic Day! Each student from first to eighth grade was broken into teams representing four countries. As each class went through the various events, the scores were written down and compiled at the end of the day.
Mexico took the gold, followed by Japan in second. South Africa came in third, closely followed by the United Kingdom. It was incredible to watch each student give their best in every event! However, what was most comforting was the encouragement that seemed to surround The Heiskell School like a cloud on a foggy day. Students were cheering for classmates and fellow teammates to keep working hard and to never give up. What a blessing to see all the character building done in the classroom applied to real life! Last Friday, third grade lived out the meaning of 1 Thessalonians 5:11 "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." Tuesday, April 27, 2010
